OK, so the new Stratford Westfield is opening tomorrow and although Westfield's is taking over London as the new most amazing place to shop, I am glad to admit that it is an Aussie who owns it and has made this happen.

Inspiring

They accepted the pleasures of morning, the bright sun, the whelming sea and sweet air, as a time when play was good and life so full that hope was not necessary and therefore forgotten.

who would think

Who would think that working would take up so much time! Well it does and ultimately takes my time away from doing things that I can blog about! But all in all it is going well, have been buying uniform, helping people with 'the Duchess dress' and partaking in two equally massive nights out making me feel 18 again but then reminding me that I am not.

Looking forward to the next month filled with visitors from home, getting ready to move to a permanent home and hopefully more drinking sessions.

Dangers of living in London!

I started my job this week and can I tell you it's been a long week. Why did I want a job so desperately? Oh that's right I need to survive somehow. Actually working isn't that bad at all, its just that when you are not working, you kinda get use to it and somewhat lazy.
After making it through my first few days of peak hour tubes, business people barging you in the street and oh my favourite -cancelled tubes, I was shattered! You see I've experienced it all within 3 days. At least I am prepared now of what London work life can throw at you.
There was one thing that I have also worked out about London tube travel though, it can be quite dangerous! Did you know that travelling tubes can lead to deep vein thrombosis, otherwise known as DVT?? There is actually a whole week dedicated to awareness so it must be bad right? So I will now add DVT into the danger list along with hair loss from the terrible British limescale water.
What have I gotten myself into?! I'm going to come back bald and wearing circulation tights...eek!

Barefoot in the park

I found a bonus about not working today (ok not working at all) I get to watch old movies on TV. I have a secret love for old movies which I think I get from my mum. I love their innocence, I love how they tell an amazing story without all the big hoo-ha, I love the movie posters that are created to accompany them, I love how stunning the actors and actresses are and I love how a lot of them pushed the boundaries before their time (ah-la Breakfast at Tiffany's). I also think it is because I secretly wish I lived in another era.
Today I watched the movie 'Barefoot in the park' with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. All the vivaciousness of Corie (Fonda) and building her new life with her new husband (Redford) and how life can throw amazing and crazy yet wonderful things at you. It's about accepting these and running with them. Ahhhh bliss.

There's a lesson to be learnt in all these movies.

cry baby, cry baby

I finished work last week and in usual fashion I cried. If you know me - I cry. In my defence I only get emotional when something means a lot to me.

My work farewell started with a visit to a bar I wanted to check out before I leave - Hunky Dory Social Club. This place had a good vibe, great music and the decor had everything I liked, from the crystal decanter used for water and the golden books used as menus to the exposed brick walls and and chandeliers.

Then the next day a little gathering happened in the office where I had my chance to say goodbye to everyone.

I really enjoyed my time at Bonds and the friends I made I know I will keep forever. It's amazing how in such a short period of time people can change the whole outlook on your life and shake it up for the better.

So for now, I guess I'm unemployed...?
